Why ‘Manna’ ?
We were looking for a name that combined what a blessing these horses are, with a focus on “today” – meaning recognizing that we have today, to be with each other and to be with our horses. When we are with our horses, our training philosophy is to recognize ‘what horse (temperament) is showing up today’ and to adjust accordingly. So to us, Manna is a reminder to every day be grateful, adaptable, and joyful.

Manna was a gift from God to the Jews while they were wandering in the wilderness. It was provided every day, but it would only last a day*. Exodus 16.
Our breeding priorities
First is Temperament. Although a calm and willing temperament is common in the MM breed, we want to keep this front and center in horses used for breeding stock. Curious, calm, willing, and brave are the horses we want!
Second is Body Type. We want strong, robust horses that are 14.3 – 15.2 hands tall with a mostly square frame and good gait extension. These are for the medium to larger size rider and activities like Working Equitation and Trail riding rather than primarily the show ring (although we do show!).
Third is Gait. A natural gait is paramount. Our preference is for picada because, well that’s just our preference. We also believe that having well established picada bloodlines in the US will serve the breed well into the future.
Fourth is Style. Everyone loves a beautiful horse!
